Dr. Alison Faust has conducted research in multiple areas within the field of hepatology, including participating in hepatitis B and C clinical trials and in analysis of clinical outcomes and treatment responses.
Her current research interests include quality improvement and patient-reported outcomes.
Dr. Alison Faust has extensive experience as a lecturer in gastoenterology and hepatology topics for medical students, residents and fellows. She served as facilitator of the hepatology journal club for fellows at her previous institution and has mentored successful medical students and residents for more than eight years.
Dr. Faust has lectured on liver disease at several state and national conferences, including the American College of Gastroenterology Regional Meeting, American Liver Foundation, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Conference and Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates conference.
Dr. Alison Faust is an attending physician at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with a focus in general and transplant hepatology. As a faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, she also performs endoscopic procedures and participates in night and weekend call coverage. In these roles, she supervises fellows, residents and medical students.
Before joining Penn State Health, Dr. Faust was attending physician at another Pennsylvania academic medical center. She has worked in academic and community environments and served on the executive committee for transplant-related clinical activities at her previous institution.
