Research interests

Dr. Aman Dhawan’s research interests include mechanobiology, tissue engineering, biomechanics and clinical outcomes in a number of different areas, including ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery, cartilage surgery, rotator cuff surgery and shoulder instability.

He has more than 60 publications and book chapters and has garnered several extramural research grants. Dr. Dhawan’s work in research has been recognized locally and nationally, including being selected as a finalist for the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society’s Roger A. Mann Award, presented to one outstanding clinical paper at each year’s AOFAS meeting.

Teaching and educational interests

Dr. Aman Dhawan is involved in both classroom and clinical instruction and education for medical students and residents in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Penn State College of Medicine.

Dr. Aman Dhawan is an orthopaedic sports medicine specialist. His practice is composed of ACL tears, cartilage injuries of the knee, meniscal tears and injury, femoroacetabular impingement, hip arthroscopy, hip labral tears, knee arthroscopy, knee ligament injuries, meniscus tears, patellar instability, rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthritis, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder instability and shoulder labral tears.
