Personal profile
Research interests
His current research efforts are in renewable energy production and the development of an energy sustainable water infrastructure, bioelecticity generation using microbial fuel cells, hydrogen production using water electrolyzers and microbial electrolysis cells, and energy storage and electricity generation from waste heat using thermal batteries. He is also working to improve our understanding of energy use and carbon emissions (water-energy-food-climate nexus) through a new book on this topic, as well as by teaching new courses at Penn State, and giving talks and seminars.
