Dr. Christa Coleman has presented at the local/community, institutional, state, and national level on the topic of psychological pain management and has written manuscripts on opioid prescribing patterns, fibromyalgia, and pain psychology. Her current research focuses on brief mindfulness-based interventions for post-surgical outcomes and the impact of adverse childhood experiences on spinal cord stimulator outcomes. She also has specific interests in the relationship between women's health and pain.
Dr. Christa Coleman is a clinical psychologist with expertise in pain management. Her clinical work has focused on pain psychology treatments, namely biofeedback training, hypnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions for chronic pain. She is board certified in biofeedback through Biofeedback Certification International Alliance and a certified provider of Stanford's Empowered Relief program. In addition to behavioral pain treatments, much of her career has focused on pre-surgical psychological assessment and developing and optimizing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams for chronic pain conditions.
