Research interests

Dr. Douglas Armstrong is interested in safely and effectiveness of both non-operative and operative treatment of spinal deformities in children and adolescents. He has published research in pediatric spinal surgery; pediatric orthopaedic trauma, including fractures and vehicle-related trauma; and disorders of the pediatric hip and knee.

Teaching and educational interests

Dr. Douglas Armstrong's teaching includes a diverse group of residents, colleagues, surgeons, faculty and medical students both locally and internationally. He routinely teaches and provides lectures to students, faculty and residents from a variety of faculties on various topics including general pediatric orthopaedics, pediatric spine deformity and pediatric trauma.

Clinical interests

Dr. Douglas Armstrong's main clinical interests are in the evaluation and management of the spine in children and adolescents, including scoliosis and other disorders of growth and development. He is also interested in pediatric orthopedic trauma.
