Dr. Elizabeth Sodomin's research is focused on forwarding the field of hernia surgery, surgical endoscopy, and general surgery. She works with medical students, residents, and fellows to generate hypotheses and data that drive research to improve patient care and create future best practices. Her research is clinically based and looks at patient outcomes and new technologies.
Dr. Elizabeth Sodomin teaches in the College of Medicine with a focus on both humanities and surgery. Her lectures explore autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice as they apply to medicine and research. She strives to encourage and empower the next generation of surgeon-scientists and medical ethicists.
