Dr. Julie Lentes's research centers on experiential learning, critical reflection, and cultural humility in health professions education, as well as innovative training strategies to enhance public health capacity and advance health equity. Her recent projects have explored intersectoral partnerships, health policy initiatives, and community-based participatory approaches to engaging adolescents in substance use prevention research.
Dr. Julie Lentes is the Assistant Director for International Initiatives in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Lentes teaches advanced qualitative research methods, public health education methods, global health practicum/advanced field experience, and international perspectives of health care systems.
