    Dr. Julie Radico is interested in behavioral health, wellness, education, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and women in academic medicine.

    Teaching and educational interests

    Dr. Julie Radico is a licensed psychologist and Behavioral Health Faculty in the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) Residency Program. Dr. Radico has worked to integrate behavioral health into the practice of FCM for medical students, family medicine residents, and psychology interns.

    Dr. Radico has developed didactics, written curricula, developed policies, served on remediation teams, established resources for struggling learners, completed direct observations and video reviews with residents, and taught didactic sessions. Dr. Radico educates learners on evidence-based guidelines for behavioral health using the biopsychosocial model and interactive learning.

    Dr. Radico precepts alongside faculty physicians in outpatient settings and teaches on rounds in the inpatient setting, providing residents education and coaching on the psychological and social aspects of their patient care. Dr. Radico provides lectures in the hospital system on behavioral health topics, including managing stress, unhelpful thinking, and cognitive behavioral strategies in an effort to benefit clinician and patient care.

    Dr. Julie Radico utilizes co-located and integrated primary care models to treat adult patients in a Family Medicine outpatient and inpatient settings.
