The Swulius lab uses a multi-scale imaging approach combined with computer vision to explore the the structural complexity of whole neuronal cells in different stages of development and under stress-induced degeneration. They have 20 years of cryo-electron microscopy and fluorescence microscopy experience, and use this expertise to better understand fundamental mechanisms of neuronal cell biology. They have invested heavily in developing methods for parsing large imaging datasets using deep learning, and push the boundaries of what this machine learning approach is capable of.
The Swulius lab is always interested in meeting students who are curious about their research and the opportunities that exist within the lab.
