    Dr. Michael Murray's work centers on improving outcomes for adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder. He is the creator of Multi-Media Social Skills Interventions, aimed at improving social conversation skills for adolescents and adults with autism. He and his colleagues in the division of autism services at Penn State Health have dedicated their efforts to the transition period from adolescence to adulthood as may individuals with autism have great difficulty navigating this period which then can result in loss of adaptive functioning and onset of mental health challenges.

    More recently, their work has centered on mapping longitudinal outcomes for adults with autism who are receiving state-funded services in Pennsylvania. This work has influenced state policy on service delivery to individuals with autism and other developmental disorders.
