    Research interests

    Dr. Rezhan Hussein is a Fellow of IDSA and ACP. He completed an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine and holds Certificate of Knowledge in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Travelers’ Health. He joined the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in September 2017. His service activities are extensive, both within the institution and externally for the profession.

    Dr. Hussein served as one of the co-investigators for phases 3 and 4 of NIAID Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial (ACTT) and NIH sponsored ACTIV-5/ Big Effect Trial (BET-B) for treatment of COVID-19.

    Teaching and educational interests

    Dr. Hussein has been consistently recognized by patients as providing “Exceptional Patient” experiences. He educates all levels of learners and has been frequently recognized as an “Exceptional Teacher."

    Dr. Hussein was one of the mentors for five separate abstract presentation for students and or residents in 2021-2022.
