Dr. Sadie Smith's research interests focus on the early identification and multi-modal treatment of chronic pelvic pain, and in the role of neuromodulation in the treatment of a variety of pelvic pain conditions.
Dr. Smith is the co-director of medical student education in the Department of Anesthesiology. She teaches and mentors fellows, residents and medical students who are interested in pursuing a career in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
Dr. Smith practices both general anesthesiology and interventional chronic pain. She treats a wide variety of chronic pain conditions including but not limited to chronic spine related pain, myofascial pain, complex regional pain syndrome, chronic abdominal and pelvic pain, and facial pain. She works closely with a multi-disciplinary group at Penn State Health to provide optimal care for patients with complex chronic abdominal and pelvic pain.
