Dr. Sarah Boyd's research interests are in optimizing patient outcomes and decreasing adverse events in both surgical and non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders. Her research to date has focused on estimating risk for adverse outcomes in patients undergoing pelvic reconstructive surgery, postoperative opioid consumption, postoperative catheter management for temporary voiding dysfunction and outcomes in women undergoing non-surgical management of pelvic organ prolapse. She is a collaborator in a multi-institutional research group utilizing large databases for evaluation of perioperative outcomes and adverse events in patients with pelvic floor disorders. At a national level, she is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society Scientific Committee and the subcommittee liason between AUGS and the Fellows Pelvic Research Network.
Dr. Boyd's clinical interests include pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, complex pelvic floor disorders, post-obstetric laceration management, interstitial cystitis and overactive bladder, as well as minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including both laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
