Research interests
Dr. Sol De Jesus is passionate about devoting her clinical skills and research work to improving the care of patients with movement disorders. She is actively involved and has served as principal and co-investigator on multiple clinical trials involving parkinsonian patients.
She currently participates in studies exploring motor and non-motor aspects of deep brain stimulation (DBS) as it pertains to various movement disorders. Her primary research interests involve a desire to increase understanding of the underlying mechanisms and patient-related factors that influence DBS outcomes.
Clinical interests
Dr. Sol De Jesus is co-director for the deep brain stimulation (DBS) program at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She maintains a vibrant clinical practice where she cares for patients with general movement disorders and more specifically those undergoing screening and management for DBS.
Her clinical interests include deep brain stimulation (all indications) and other advanced therapies; Parkinson’s disease; essential tremor; dystonia; Botulinum toxin injection; and other movement disorders.
