Personal profile
Research interests
Dr. Timothy Mosher has expertise in the development and application of quantitative magnetic resonance imaging biomarkers for evaluation of articular cartilage and osteoarthritis. He was an early developer of quantitative cartilage T2 mapping in human clinical research and clinical trials. More recently, Dr. Mosher has developed an interest in research directed toward the reduction of diagnostic error in medicine; in particular, understanding neurocognitive factors contributing to perceptual errors in radiologists.
Teaching and educational interests
Dr. Timothy Mosher has developed active learning electives for third- and fourth-year medical students to develop process improvement programs related to improvement of diagnosis. His education interests relate to critical thinking skills in medicine, particularly the impact of system and environmental factors on cognitive errors in diagnosis.
Dr. Mosher provides lectures to professional societies and health care organizations related to medical imaging in sports medicine and osteoarthritis.
Professional information
Dr. Mosher serves as the Physician Lead of Imaging Services for Penn State Health.
