Project Details

Description

This phase 1 project is a collaboration between two organizations, Social Current, which represents the social services sector, and the American Public Human Services Association, which represents the human services sector. They will work together to develop a competency framework for human- and social-service leaders to equip them to speak as one voice; embed an equity lens across their organizations; and influence policy, practice, and resource changes that foster community-driven systems of care. This project aims to respond to the growing recognition of the need for a community-led leadership framework that can shift power to communities toward greater equity and community involvement in the systems that serve those communities. The major deliverables will be: (1) a leadership framework and related leadership competencies; (2) learning and coaching opportunities for community-based and public-sector leaders; (3) learning events and a thought-leadership series; (4) a leadership toolkit; (5) a tool to measure progress toward shifting power to communities and enhancing equity across human- and social-service organizations; and (6) a phase 2 implementation plan.
