Project Details

Description

The main goal of the research project is to develop ICT and automation system for the distributed management of RES based electricity system and for services based on energy information. A holistic viewpoint of electricity system requirements and functionalities is utilized in order to develop plausible and affordable ICT and automation systems based on flexibility services. The general idea behind balancing and congestion management functionalities utilizing DERs is to enhance the hosting capacity of electricity system for RESs. The interdependency of market stakeholders is the main challenge to be solved in the system management. The uncertainty of renewable energy sources, demand and market actions of other stakeholders remarkably complicates the decision making of management functions. Automation architecture and system management functionalities will also be implemented as demonstrations which are the basis for the testing of architecture and management functionalities.
