Engaging PCORI Priority Stakeholders Through the Society of General Internal Medicine

Project Summary View Final Summary Report The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) is implementing a two-year program, Engaging PCORI Priority Stakeholders through SGIM, designed to help us develop a better understanding of the attitudes and knowledge of our membership of clinicians, educators, and investigators regarding the opportunities in PCOR/CER research and how they may best be engaged to participate. We will create a PCORI track at our Annual Meetings in 2015 and 2016 highlighting how to incorporate PCOR into learning healthcare systems, create a train-the-trainer presentation to be used at regional meetings, develop collaborative opportunities with PCORnet, and disseminate best practices and recommendations informed by the project to key stakeholders. The projected outputs from this project are two annual meetings with a PCOR track, assessment of physician and patient audiences about knowledge and perception of PCOR, development of an interactive learning community with teach the teacher training sessions; and increasing the use of PCORnet with SGIM special interest groups promotion of the project through newsletters and journals. Project collaborators include the Family Voices patient advocate network.
