Description
Nondestructive testing of materials for characterization of engineering properties has been applied for decades. However, using resonant column testing for characterization of asphalt concrete behavior is new and worth exploration. If successful, this technique will provide a unique way of determining asphalt concrete properties. Specifically, this technique is useful for warm mix asphalt as specific additives are used to alter the binder properties making it possible for application at lower temperature than conventional hot mix asphalt.
