Phase 1 clinical trial to develop a personalized adaptive text message intervention using control systems engineering tools to increase physical activity in early adulthood

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Public Health Relevance Physical inactivity is a risk factor for weight gain, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions (e.g., cancer, diabetes). Inactivity and weight gain increase during the transition into adulthood yet this population often falls beyond the reach of the health care system. We are developing a mobile messaging intervention that uses personalized mathematical models of behavior to promote physical activity during the transition into adulthood.
