Supporting Young Invincibles' leadership role in national and state efforts to maximize health coverage during open enrollment 2018

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This funding supports the Young Invincibles (YI) in continuing to lead efforts to maximize enrollment in health insurance coverage during the 2018 open enrollment period (OEP2018) under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by: (1) convening a national coalition to organize and coordinate outreach and enrollment; (2) administering the Get Covered Connector, an online scheduling tool; (3) running an email campaign to educate more than 500,000 consumers nationwide and connect them with enrollment resources; and (4) training key state partners about enrollment and outreach best practices, lessons learned, and reaching consumers. YI will coordinate with other RWJF grantees involved in enrollment and consumer assistance, which will allow them to share information on ongoing developments. Deliverables will include the national Get Covered Coalition's monthly meetings; creation and dissemination of up-to-date resources on accessing care for consumers and partners, such as best-practice toolkits, fact sheets, and consumer-facing materials in English and Spanish; a monthly webinar series to provide in-person assisters and partners with key information and tools; coordinated outreach calendars to promote 'theme weeks' and deadline pushes; operation of the Connector tool; digital engagement of consumers through a 500,000-person email list and social media; and training and technical assistance for select state coalitions. The grantee will participate in a training on the appropriate use of RWJF funds, and none will be used for lobbying.
