Abstract

Radiological imaging scanners now exist that provide time sequences of three-dimensional (3D) cardiac images. Such a sequence can be viewed as a four-dimensional (4D) image. 4D cardiac images provide dynamic information on heart shape and function. We define 4D digital topology concepts and 4D mathematical-morphology operations. We then apply them to 4D cardiac image analysis.
