Abstract
To demonstrate the difference in clustering on the effective reflectivity factor and the different reflectivity plane, two cases of aircraft penetrations of ice clouds are discussed. The first case involves the observation of stellar crystals as the primary ice crystal type. In the second case, stellar crystals and aggregates are both observed.
