Abstract
A versatile recruitment tool to encourage high-school girls towards a career in engineering technology field is discussed. A 16-foot long wood and steel bridge was designed to evaluate and boost the interest level of girls towards engineering topics. The girls were introduced to the structural topics and were asked to assemble the bridge. The girls were excited by the project and were happy to select engineering technology as a career.
