Abstract

This paper presents near-threshold corrosion fatigue crack propagation data for Mil S-24645 HSLA steel and a compatible strength weld metal tested in air, ASTM seawater at the free corrosion potential and ASTM seawater with -0.8V and -1.0V (SCE) cathodic protection in order to compare the magnitudes of their near-threshold closure contributions and determine their effective stress intensity ranges.
