Abstract
A computational procedure helpful in finding multiple solutions for convective heat transfer equation is proposed. The procedure combines the conventional numerical solution method with a real number based algorithm to achieve bi-directionality. The proposed computational procedure was applied to convective heat transfer in a liquid layer locally heated on its surface by an electric arc. Good agreement aware experienced between the model predictions and the independent experimental results shows its use in widescale heat transfer equations.
