Abstract

A grand experiment offering a single, online course that focused on the basic principles of weather forecasting has been presented. The course, "Meteo 101: Understanding Weather Forecasting", was initiated by The Pennsylvania State University for adults who seek educational outlet to nourish their passion for weather and forecasting. The certificate program consisted of four online courses: understanding weather forecasting; fundamentals of tropical forecasting; fundamentals of mesoscale weather forecasting; and advanced topics in weather forecasting.
