Abstract
A silicon-based bipolar micro direct methanol fuel cell (μDMFC) was designed and fabricated. The performance of the μDMFC was characterized at near room temperature. The cell voltage dependence on the current density agrees well with the modified Tafel model. The fabrication of this device shows the potential to provide an efficient power source for portable electronic devices and MEMS.
