A note on the first-order Born approximation for scattering by defects in crystals

Abstract

The shortcomings of Moriya’s treatment of scattering from a defect in a crystal are pointed out. Consistent with the limitations of the first-order Born approximation, the correct analysis for the scattering problem is given.
