Abstract

The hereditary risk associated with developing a depressive disorder is already a well-established relationship in mental health. However, there is limited evidence assessing the confounding effect that a parent's depression may have on the actual treatment of a depressive disorder in their offspring. This study explores the relationship between parental depression and treatment outcomes for children and adolescents being actively treated for a depressive disorder in the outpatient setting.
