N2 - This paper will review the current status of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and describe a general framework for developing these systems for autonomous systems. While AI has been around for about 70 years, almost everything that has been done to-date has been what is called 'narrow' AI. That is, the theory and applications have mostly been focused on specific applications, not 'strong' or general-purpose AI (or Artificial General Intelligence, AGI). As stated in [5], Deep Blue was great at playing chess but could not play checkers. The typical AI of today is basically a collection of well-known algorithms and techniques that are each good for certain applications.
