A T-Matrix EFIE-PMCHWT Method for Computing Electromagnetic Scattering from Composite Conductor-Dielectric Objects

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Conference contribution

Abstract

The T-matrix (transition matrix) method is a widely used technique for modelling the electromagnetic scattering response from arbitrary shaped and sized scatterers and obstacles (M. I. Mishchenko, L. D. Travis and A. A. Lacis, Scattering, Absorption, and Emission of Light by Small Particles, 1st Ed, Cambridge University Press, 2002). While the technique has been employed for decades within the microwave and optical communities, formulations linking the T -matrix method and Integral Equations (IE) are relatively rare. An integrated formulation that combines the T -matrix method and Integral Equations is essential for testcases where the aspect ratio of the scattering geometry is skewed, or when conventional methods to extract the T -matrix fail.
