Abstract
This journal issue presents two articles concerned with absorption technology. One paper deals with applications, the other one with research. The first paper makes it clear that absorption technology can meet the needs of a number of customers, employing machines which were unavailable a few years ago. The second paper describes what is coming. New gas-fired machines, with much higher performance than it was thought practical during the sixties are being developed, and some of them with little additional complexity.
