Abstract

An introduction to active filter design using the MF10 switched capacitor circuit is given. The design process consists of first introducing a general purpose universal active filter configuration. This configuration is used to illustrate the various types of filters, such as lowpass, highpass, and bandpass, by choosing the appropriate resistor combinations and the correct output terminal. Then, switched capacitor circuit technology is introduced to replace the precision resistors which control the frequency response. By combining the general purpose universal filter configuration and switched capacitor circuit techniques, a general synthesis procedure for the design of switched capacitor active filter circuits using the MF10 circuit is introduced.
