Abstract

Although there are many web-based information service systems available, it is still not an easy job in navigating through the Internet to get the needed information service in a timely manner. This paper investigates a practical approach to deploying just-in-time assistive information services on the Internet. As a preliminary exploration, the RSS technology is used to assure that the information service is up-to-date. When combined with one-time Rocchio feedback and many-times Rocchio feedback, information services can be well filtered and aggregated to meet the needs of personalization, and become more just-in-time assistive. A prototyped news service system is built to validate the applicability of the proposed methodology.
