Abstract
Penile carcinoma is locally aggressive, and the prognosis is poor in advanced disease. There is a paucity of literature regarding chemotherapy in penile carcinoma. The evolution from single-agent chemotherapy to combination chemotherapy has shown encouraging results. Neoadjuvant approach to chemotherapy in unresectable disease has shown modest response while adjuvant and palliative chemotherapy are fraught with lower response rates. Radiation therapy as the primary modality in penile cancer enables organ preservation, and patient selection is utmost for best results. Radiation delivery can be either through external beam radiotherapy (EBRT), brachytherapy or surface mould plesiotherapy. Rigorous follow-up is necessary for early identification and treatment of recurrences.
