N2 - The phenomena exhibited by gases adsorbed on fullerenes are both unusual and diverse, given the wide variety of adsorption geometries, including buckyballs, nanotubes, nanohorns and assemblies of these constituents. As a result of this diversity, many distinct kinds of adsorption behavior are possible. In this paper, we focus on one aspect of this general problem, which has received little attention: weak interactions play an unusually important role, especially for phase transitions. This factor represents a new ingredient in the fundamental science of this problem. Among other things, it provides a way to learn about these interactions.
