Abstract
The adsorption of anthraquinone (AQ) and 1,2-dihydroxyanthraquinone (AL) on aerosil and silica from solutions has been studied. The adsorption of AQ occurs only from the solution in n-hexane, no adsorption has been observed from ethanol and toluene. IR and electronic spectra have shown that AQ was fixed on the aerosil surface due to the formation of the hydrogen bonds between >C=O groups and OH surface groups or water molecules bound by the surface.
