Abstract
This chapter discusses characteristics that constitute an ideal green polymerizationand highlights deficiencies inherent in processes that operate bya cationic mechanism. A comprehensive review of progress made in thefield of isobutene containing polymers is provided. Newer methods for thepreparation of polymers synthesized from naturally derived monomers viaa cationic mechanism are also discussed.
