Abstract

The purpose of this Arts Education Policy Review special issue was to connect international music teacher professional development (PD) policies by theme and draw policy parallels and intersections between countries. A thematic (rather than a country-by-country) approach incorporated the author/researchers’ input into how connections might be drawn and lessons learned across countries and locales. The PD policy issues we face are similar, globally, and this issue encourages readers to focus on PD issues and policies in a more all-encompassing and international way.
