Abstract

This chapter explores the role of school-based health providers in identifying, managing, and addressing alcohol and substance use and substance use disorders among adolescents. By examining common signs and symptoms, assessment tools, care plans, complications, triage/disposition, and preventive strategies/resources, this chapter aims to equip school health professionals with practical strategies to mitigate risks and support adolescents.
