Abstract
Symmetries produced through domain average engineering in ferroelectric systems were studied. Energetically degenerate low temperature domain states were produced at the structural phase transition. Results showed that the coexistence of domain states can produce mesoscopic structures which have symmetries different from microscopic single domain crystal symmetry.
