N2 - The ability of three different methods to predict lift, drag, and pitching moment coefficients of rotorcraft airfoils at the onset of dynamic stall is explored. Analysis tools with distinct levels of complexity are compared: the Leishman-Beddoes semi-empirical dynamic stall model, an interactive unsteady boundary layer method, and a computational fluid dynamics solver. These tools are assessed for possible application during design studies. Sinusoidal pitch, as well as constant pitch-rate oscillations are considered on several different airfoils. The results are compared with wind tunnel data, when available.
