Abstract

This paper presents an efficient analysis of alternating impedance electromagnetic bandgap (AI-EBG) structure using transmission line network (TLN) method. The AI-EBG structure has shown excellent noise suppression in realistic mixed-signal systems. However, there is no efficient way to get dispersion diagram of the AI-EBG structure for a fast design process. Transmission line network (TLN) method has been applied to get the dispersion diagram of the AI-EBG structure for the first time. The analytic equation for the dispersion diagram of the AI-EBG structure has been driven successfully. Compared with full-wave solvers, this method is extremely faster and produces quite accurate results.
