Abstract

A Modular Repair Center (MRC) concept was adopted in layouting the engine repair facility in an Air Force Depot. A large general simulation model was developed using SLAM to simulate all activities in an MRC, e. g. , sizing, location, storage and handling. A network optimization model was then used for the design of the mechanized material handling system connecting the MRC's.
