title = "Analysis of dynamic function allocation between human operators and automation systems",
abstract = "Function Allocation: {"}To which agent (actor), human or machine, should we allocate this function?{"} The NextGen ATM system capitalize on this human-automation function allocation. This paper aims at developing efficient and justifiable evaluation supporting frameworks for dynamic function allocation. For that purpose, this discussion introduces issues with human-automation function allocation and identifies nine quantitative metrics for that. These metrics can be categorized in static and dynamic categories in a broad sense, which can be measured from conceptual and computational models, respectively. To analyze dynamic function allocation, this paper focuses on the interaction between a human pilot and automation flight deck. To implement those interactions and evaluate its function allocation, the conceptual framework, Work Environment Chart (WEC) is suggested and also agent-based modeling and simulation air traffic using the Reconfigurable Flight Simulation-Work Environment Analysis (RFS-WEA) is introduced.",
