N2 - Anesthesia for urology surgery poses special problems by way of patient factors and complexity of the procedure. Preoperative optimization of the patients with renal dysfunction and comorbidity; specific complications associated with the operative procedures, such as transurethral resection of prostate, laparoscopy surgery, percutaneous lithotripsy and renal transplantation; and the implications of the various positions that the patient may be subjected to during surgery are briefly presented. The purpose of this review article is to highlight the anesthetic implications of the renal and comorbid problems in a patient scheduled for genitourinary surgery.
