Abstract

Anisotropic shaped perovskite templates were prepared by two-step molten salt synthesis. These templates can be used as seeds in Templated Grain Growth to prepare textured ceramics. Plate-like Sr3Ti2O 7 Sr4Ti3O10 were first synthesized in NaCl-KCl molten salt system. Perovskite SrTiO3 was grown on the intermediate in the second step. XRD, SEM and EDS were used to analysis the growth procedure and mechanics. There were two different mechanics in rich and poor TiO2 environments. The anisotropic shape makes the template can be well aligned in tape casting process, and the perovskite structure is uniform with PMNT.
