Abstract

Anterior cervical foraminotomy is a minimally invasive surgical option for anterior decompression of the cervical spine. This surgical technique may be utilized for direct anterior decompression of neural foraminal stenosis with or without central stenosis, while preserving the motion segment and avoiding concomitant fusion. The technical aspects of this surgery along with indications and outcomes are discussed, and the nuances of technical variations are presented.
