Abstract
A modelled transport equation for the joint pdf of the velocities and a scalar was solved numerically for the plane turbulent mixing layer. A generalized Langevin equation models the effects of the fluctuating pressure and viscosity, while a stochastic mixing model represents the effects of molecular diffusivity. Conditional modelling is included to account for intermittency. The calculated intermittency factor and both conditional and unconditional moments of the velocity field are compared with experimental data. (A)
